Be prepared for your Path!
Get ready for your Path in Roverway 2012. Get your gear sorted, and begin to follow a physical routine, if your Path involves physical activity. Remember also to learn how to wash dishes by hand. See, Feel and Enjoy!

Be prepared for RoverMomentum!
RoverMomentum is about making a difference in society. It’s about teamwork. It’s about volunteering for service and making the world a better place.
RoverMomentum starts with Be Prepared! It continues during the camp at RoverMomentum Valley to gather ideas, strength and spirit. Release your power after the main event – make your society better with RoverMomentum Project.
RoverMomentum project ideas
The most important thing is that your project gives something to the community and hopefully makes a lasting and positive impact! The project can be large or small, local or international, short or long term – whatever you feel is important and useful. Try to create something that really challenges the imagination and resources of your patrol. The goal should not be to benefit yourselves, for example economically. The more people benefit from the project and can take part in it, the better. For a start, see the examples below and think how you would realize them. By doing that, you will probably get more ideas and find your own project.
Project examples:
- Organising a day of tidying up the public environment. This could be your local park, road side, hiking trail etc. Organising means advertising, booking the litter collection, buying or hauling the litter bags, also equipment and safety gear for the participants (involving also the non-scouts!), getting required permits and permission, and ending the happening together with all participants.
- Visiting a home or center for the elderly or disabled and arranging an outing or something interesting to do for them, even visiting them frequently for a period of time.
- Arranging a fundraising happening to collect money for an orphanage, animal shelter, environmental or humanitarian cause. In practice, this means setting up goals with the fundraising unit, applying required permissions, meeting with the local authorities and the police. The fundraising could be an outdoor concert, a fair, an open market for food or other products.
It does not need to be a ready idea – you’re going to have time with your patrol to evolve your ideas in the RoverMomentum Valley! Of course, the better you are prepared, the easier it will be there.
End your RoverMomentum by sharing your results:
Last but not least, you should report how your RoverMomentum succeeded. We really want to hear how the project was realized, how it went. Share your experience! You can do it on our Facebook pages to ensure all the other Roverway participants will be able to see it. Illustrate your stories with a few pictures of the event, maybe a clip from the local newspaper or post videos online! Also the pre-thoughts of your project would be interesting to read, so add them, too. Share your happy moments and failures – tell everyone what you learned, what went well and what not, what would you do differently next time. Maybe other groups will get inspired to recreate your RoverMomentum project!
