Roverway, a joint European WAGGGS and WOSM event for 16-22 year old Rover Scouts and Rangers from all over the world. Roverway 2012 takes place in Finland 20.–28.7.2012.

Facilities

Sub camps

The camp will be divided into three subcamps for tribes and a service subcamp for the ISTs. Each subcamp has its own information point where participants can get information about the camp program and other interesting stuff. Offices can also help in little everyday problems like keeping lists of lost and found items.

Sauna

Sauna is one of the most characteristic features of a Finnish camp and Roverway 2012 is no exception!

Sleeping

During Roverway 2012, you will be sleeping outdoors. During the Path phase, different Tribes have varying places to stay the night - your Tribe leaders will tell you what you need per Path. During the Camp part of Roverway, everyone will sleep in tents in the forest at the Evo campsite. Please don't bring along very large tents as the amount of space allocated to each Tribe is quite small.

Hygiene

There are outside showers available at the campsite. Please note that due to environmental regulations, you cannot bring along any shampoos, conditioners or face/body washes which contain phosphates. Roverway will provide phosphate-free hygiene products in the showers at the camp.

The toilets at the campsite are "Bajamaja" style portable toilets provided by Lassila & Tikanoja which are cleaned daily. Roverway will also provide hand disinfectant at the toilet sites.

Mealtimes

At Roverway, meals will be served at the central kitchen. Daily you will be served breakfast, lunch and dinner. When you come to eat, wash your hands thoroughly, bring along your personal dining utensils (plastic plate, mug, spoon, knife and fork in a canvas bag) and wash the dishes immediately after eating at the dishwashing points. Meal times during the camp:

  • Breakfast 7.00-10.30
  • Lunch 11.30-15.00
  • Dinner klo 18.00-21.00 (on the Festival Day, dinner will be served during the festival program)

For those participants who are observing Ramadan, meals will be served at the central kitchen daily at 4.00-5.00 and 22.00-23.00.

Other facilities

There will also be medical services available at the campsite.
